Best pizza in Philly. Perfectly well done without asking. Got there when they opened and already 5 other people in line. Better than NY pizza.

This was one of the best slices of pizza I ever had. I need to know how they made the dough so crispy even though it's been reheated. I suspect they're spritzing it with olive oil. Anyway, it's off the hook. Just be aware that if you're going on a cold night, there's nowhere warm to wait or eat. It's just a window front.

I've heard quite a bit of hysteria regarding the quality of the slices so I decided to take Pizza Shackamaxon for a spin. My experience surpassed all my expectations. ENVIRONMENT It's key to keep in mind this is a pizza STAND as opposed to a sit-in pizza restaurant. I quickly came to realize this as I ordered during one of our colder winter days. The service was quick, effficient and left nothing to be desired. However, smells coming out the service window....lead me to my next point! FOOD The aroma! Before I could take a bite of my slice the aroma of their herbs hit my nose at the service window. The slices are large, not the extent of your average NY slice but most certainly in comparison to the average slice you'll encounter in Philly. Overall, I was more than pleased with my experience at PIZZA Shackamaxon. I can proclaim them to be my favorite thin-crust pizza spot in the city. Happy eats!

5 stars due to nostalgia and great service, 3 stars without those things. Plain slice: it reminds me of exactly how Sbarro pizza tasted in the 90s before it nosedived. Junky, greasy, salty. Good quality ingredients though. Tomato pie square: tasted fresh but plain, and logistically it was hard to eat without a knife and fork. I'm glad I went once, but it's not a place I need on my hit list for visiting Philly.

One slice of pepperoni and one can of Diet Coke was $8.64. The pizza has a crispy bottom and perfect amount of toppings. The pizza isn't super saucy and not overloaded with cheese. It has a great dough to topping ratio. Very good slice of pizza with no complaints.

I've been coming here for the last 3 years and it's definitely my top pizza spot in Philly. You can never go wrong with the special, I have enjoyed every slice I've had. Love the tomato pie and pepperoni too (esp with hot honey). I will say their service can be a bit prompt and cold at times but not enough to ever stop me from coming lol. Limited outdoor seating and parking can be a pain. Prices have gone up over the last year to $6-7ish a slice but they are pretty big!!

FOOD We had their plain and pepperoni slices, both of which were delicious. The crust was thin and crispy, the sauce rich and flavorful (though I wish there was a little more), the cheese soft and chewy, and the basil/Italian seasoning the cherry on top. For $5.50/6.00 a slice, it's on the pricier side, but definitely a great place to check out at least once. SERVICE You order at the window and receive your order when they call your name. Both cash and card are accepted. AMBIANCE There are a couple tables for two and a bench available outside the store, but we ended up standing near the shop to eat. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.
